JOABE REIS
May 16 @ 4:30 pm - 10:00 pm
JOABE REIS 16 May | 4:30PM | Free Entry
Brazilian trombonist, composer and producer Joabe Reis is one of the most exciting voices in the new wave of instrumental jazz coming out of Brazil — and Hotel Brunswick is thrilled to have him for a one-off afternoon session.
Joabe’s sound is rooted in jazz but shaped by Hip-Hop, Neo Soul, Funk and Pop, creating something that feels equally at home in a late-night club or a sun-soaked festival set. His critically acclaimed debut album featured jazz luminaries Toninho Horta and Nelson Ayres alongside New York trombonist Elliot Mason of the Lincoln Center Orchestra, and announced him as an artist of serious calibre.
Since then, he’s only grown. In 2024 alone he toured Europe across eight concerts, performed at Rock in Rio — Brazil’s biggest festival — and joined Macy Gray on her Brazilian tour with four sold-out nights at the iconic Blue Note São Paulo. He’s also shared the stage with celebrated Brazilian artist Ed Motta and been personally invited by Toninho Horta to perform in tribute to the legendary Raul de Souza.
A rare chance to catch one of Brazil’s most in-demand jazz artists in an intimate setting.
Supported by Trio Maravilha – followed by DJ
