A life spent travelling the world can be the catalyst for a great story. Jock Barnes spent his youth travelling the world as a professional surfer and now continues his travels as a working musician, singer and songwriter. He has collected a world of inspiration to create original lyrical content and a fresh spin on his musical influences of blues, rock and pop.

Ben Jansz is an Australian Alternative Forrest Folk, Aussie Roots Singer/Songwriter musician from the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria now living in the Northern Rivers, NSW.

Given his first guitar at the age of 10, he has always aspired to create and share his music with the world. At the age of 16, he acquired his first residency and continued to perform all around the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne and regional Victoria.

In 2015, Ben began a self-funded tour, travelling and performing all the way along the East Coast of Australia. Upon reaching Byron Bay, he met singer/songwriter, Ben Taggart and percussionist, Michael Aragon (a.k.a. The Bengel Tigers) whom he went on to perform with for several months. Following Taggart’s departure from Australia, Ben and Aragon went on to form their own collaboration, Lions Eye and continued to perform around the Byron Shire, writing and recording Ben’s first EP, Follow Your Feet.

Returning to Victoria, Ben Jansz’ reputation in the area began to flourish, with the release of Follow Your Feet in 2016 and his first ticketed event supporting one of his greatest influences, Kim Churchill. Since then, he has toured the Northern Territory, supporting Thirsty Merc in Alice Springs, and New Zealand, supported by Coco Michelle, supported Josh Pyke in Melbourne and continues to tour the East Coast of Australia.

Ben Jansz’ sound can be described as Aussie Roots/Forest Folk with elements of Organic Trance. Influenced by musical icons such as John Butler, Kim Churchill, Foo Fighters, Xavier Rudd, Matt Corby and Bob Marley, he has been said to combine some of their most impressionable qualities with his own captivating vocals and skilful use of multiple instruments, creating the irreplicable Ben Jansz sound.

Sky Eater is the daring ‘mermaid trip-hop dub’ story of two multi-instrumental warriors: sax-wielding Chelsea Skyeater, armed with dubbed-out honey vocals, powerfully vulnerable lyrics and lush keys – and dub soldier TK Bassdread with his artillery of beastly bass, beats and vocals, and of course more live dubs.
Often vocally described as a “modern day Sade” and compared to Morcheeba, Sky Eater take their audiences on a “mesmerising and elegant” (Nkechi – Roots n All) journey that is full of soul and jazz moments.

Friendly Enemies is an acoustic covers duo/trio, the brainchild of musicians,Peter Hayes & Ben Brennan. An organic concoction of guitars, bass and two-part vocal harmonies, that Incorporates drum loops & beatbox percussion, delivering an eclectic repertoire of music from an array of era’s in an acoustic blues/roots/rock format.
